A1 is the beginner level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At this level, you will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases to satisfy specific needs.

? What Can You Do at A1 Level?
Introduce yourself and others (name, age, where you’re from)

Ask and answer questions about personal details (like where you live, what you do, etc.)

Use simple sentences and express basic needs

Read short, simple texts (like signs, basic advertisements)

Write simple sentences (like postcards or simple emails)

? Core Areas to Focus On (A1 Level)
1. Vocabulary ?
At A1, you'll need to start building a basic vocabulary that covers:

Greetings (Hallo, Guten Morgen, Auf Wiedersehen)

Numbers (eins, zwei, drei…)

Days of the week, months, seasons (Montag, Januar, Sommer)

Family and relationships (Mutter, Vater, Freund, Schwester)

Common verbs (essen, trinken, gehen, sprechen)

Simple adjectives (groß, klein, schön, alt)

Tip: Use flashcards (like Anki or Quizlet) to memorize new words.
2. Grammar Basics ?
Present Tense (Präsens): The basic way to express actions happening now.

Example: Ich gehe (I go / I am going), Er spricht (He speaks)

Definite Articles (der, die, das):

der (masculine), die (feminine), das (neuter)

Simple Word Order:

Pronunciation: Focus on vowel sounds and consonant combinations that can be tricky (like “ch” in ich, nicht).

Simple Conversations: Practice common phrases like:

Start by answering simple questions about yourself.

4. Reading & Writing ???
Reading: At A1, focus on very simple texts, like:

Basic ads

Children’s books

Start reading simple articles or children’s stories. This helps build vocabulary and improves comprehension.

Writing: Write simple sentences about your daily routine or introducing yourself. For example:

Ich heiße [Name]. Ich bin 25 Jahre alt. Ich komme aus [Land].
