IELTS is an international standardized English language test. It measures English proficiency for non-native speakers and is used for study, work, and migration.

? Test Format
The test has 4 sections:
Section Time Description
Listening 30 mins Listen to recordings and answer questions.
Reading 60 mins Read passages and answer questions.
Writing 60 mins 2 tasks: Describe a graph (Task 1), and write an essay (Task 2).
Speaking 11–14 mins A face-to-face interview with an examiner.
? Scoring
Each section is scored from 0 to 9 bands.
The overall score is the average of the four.
Band Score Example:
9 = Expert
7 = Good
5 = Modest
3 = Extremely limited
